Its that wonderful transitional time again where the days are getting warmer, the sun is rising earlier, the evenings have a cool breeze and we get to play around with both our winter and summer wardrobes. Experimenting with garments is always fun, and spring brings a time where we can mix and match.
Transitional dressing for me means heavily layered outfits, with voluminous flowing tunics paired over a pair of jeans or even a skirt adorned in pretty prints, embroidery and lots of colour. Tonal transitions are a winner, and pairing together garments in similar colours but with different hues creates beautiful looks.
For this outfit, I paired a denim dress over a pair of white jeans with my favourite boots. This dress has it all – denim (a constant throughout all seasons), embroidery (trending RN), sequins (adding sparkle wherever you go), pockets (obsessed with them pockets) and sleeve drama (all about that). Wearing dresses over pants is a wonderful layering technique especially if you have long legs like me. It creates a gorgeous silhouette and is perfect for those days where rain and sunshine dance – while the weather may be creating beautiful rainbows, it can tend to be a little confusing for the wardrobe! (don’t worry though, I’ve got you covered 😉 ). One may think that white jeans/pants are quite simple, but I love the crisp, fresh feel it adds to the look.
For footwear I decided on a pair of white boots. I love these white boots compared to the usual black – white has been big this winter and I have a feeling its going to stay through to spring! The cinderella heel makes it perfect for daytime or nighttime wear and while your clothing might say “spring is on the way” your footwear says “I love boot season and I’m holding onto it for as long as possible!”.
