Boho Luxe

Hi youthfuls!

Today’s post is all about channeling my inner bohemian spirit, and while doing that the common theme running through my thoughts is gratitude. Pause for a minute, reflect on the blessings around you and be grateful for the smallest things we take for granted. No matter the circumstances life presents us with, being able to experience moments of joy and togetherness with the ones we love is our greatest blessing. It’s these wonderful small things that make the bigger picture a much better place-focusing on the positives definitely breeds more of it.

About this look: I purchased this dress at a market in Goa during my travels to India a few years back. The only place I’ve worn it were on the Goan beaches, and it’s been in my closet since. This was really sad because I love the traditional print on this sari-turned-dress (reinventing Indian clothing is one of my favourite things!).

I’ve been trying to find a way to make the dress more wearable but since it has an open front and a deep back (perfect for those pool or beach day cover-ups), this was proving to be difficult. So, I decided to embrace the slip dress trend and wear it with a white T-shirt underneath. Layering never goes out of style, and I love layering different textures and fabrics to add depth and dimension to my looks. I find that this way of modest dressing brings class and respect to your outfit-sophisticated yet chic. 10 points to this trend!

For shoes I chose my Stan Smiths because of the complementary colours-red and green. I love incorporating my primary school art lessons on complimentary colours into my wearable canvas-when colours on an outfit come together I really feel like I have my life together as well! Not forgetting-comfort, sneaker goals and sporty spice!

I hope this look inspires you to channel your inner bohemian babe and incorporate any dresses you feel can only be worn on certain occasions into your everyday looks!
